Works on a Postcard: Terms and Conditions

  • The open call / pop-up exhibition is free to enter.  
  • All art submitted will automatically be entered as long as it meets prescribed criteria.  
  • All entrants must be 18 years old or older.   
  • Entrants can submit up to two postcards. 
  • We can only accept postal entries. 
  • Each entry should include the entrant’s name, contact details, location, postcard art name(s).  
  • Each entry should be labelled ‘Top’ and ‘Bottom’ on the reverse of the art.  
  • Each entry should complete an online google form.
  • Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery cannot guarantee that any art returned will not have been damaged whilst being displayed including hanging fixtures, defacement or any other damages. 
  • If you would like to submit artwork for which you wish to retain the copyright or have returned to you, you may still enter the exhibition.  
  • To retain your copyright and / or have artwork returned, please include a note with your entry. 
  • All artwork returned will be at the cost of the entrant.   
  • Postcard art entered without the entrants’ name or contact details will not be included within the pop-up exhibition.  
  • Work must arrive at Mission Gallery by no later than 20th October 2025. Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery reserve the right to change this closing date if events beyond our control occur.  
  • Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery retain the right to withhold any art from the pop-up exhibition if deemed inappropriate to display within a public space. 
  • All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrants must be the sole owner of the copyright in all artwork entered. Entrants must not have breached any laws when creating their artwork. 
  • It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any art submitted has been created with the consent of anyone who is identifiable in the artwork or they have received consent from a parent/guardian if the identifiable person is under 16 and that they have been advised of the purpose of the submission and that their image may be published by Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery.  
  • Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery reserves the right to film, photograph and make audio recordings at all our exhibitions and events. Captured images, video and audio may be used by Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery and/or our partners which include, but not limited to, the artist(s), freelance designers, and the Arts Council of Wales, for uses including but not limited to, printed promotional materials, digital design, promotional videos, social media posts, inclusion in exhibitions/events and archiving. 
  • You grant Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery and partners the use of said images, video and audio in the form of a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, world-wide licence that you will claim no monetary value for. Copyright of these images will belong to Mission Gallery, with full credits given to the artists and photographer. 
  • You agree to credit or tag Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery when you undertake communications in relation to the Exhibition. 
  • By entering your artwork you are giving Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery the legal right to sell your artwork to support the continuation of the Jane Phillips Award.  
  • By entering, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules and that Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery reserves the right to exclude any entry from the pop-up exhibition / online shop at any time and in its absolute discretion if Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery has reason to believe that an entrant has breached these rules. All information detailing how to enter this pop-up exhibition forms the terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all terms and conditions are adhered to. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions. 
  • All entrants information will be kept by Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery for 3 years. All entrants have the right to request information held by Jane Phillips Award / Mission Gallery. Privacy Notice : https://www.missiongallery.co.uk/privacy/
  • This call out / pop-up exhibition is subject to UK and Welsh Government law. 
  • This competition is open to those in Great Britain and Northern Ireland only.
